Poet Island Press is a non-profit independent publisher devoted to publishing works by both new and accomplished writers whose poetical content demonstrates a thoughtful attention to the creative process, and a serious self and world awareness.
Permanent and contributing editors, supporters and visiting poets taking part in the Hellenic International Studies in the Arts poetry festival and workshops include: Don Schofield, Jason Shinder, Steven Crane, Steven Rood, Donald Brees, Jack Gilbert, Linda Gregg, Timothy Lui, Larry Felson, Barry Tagrin and Gerald Stern. Organizations on whose support we depend include: California State University, Dominquez, Hills, Massachusetts College of Art, Prague Museum of Modern Art, UINDY, Athens, Greece, and grants from the Whitney Fellowship and the Archilochus Foundation.
Poet Island Press.com publishes works online in the Young Writers World and Selected Poets Series. The purpose of our online community is to provide a link between young aspiring writers and their more accomplished others.
